Please note that Rank Math detects only the images inserted inside the post_content, so images that were inserted on a page as gallery, background, and slider will not be detected and included in the sitemap.
However, if you have the custom field for the images, you can also include them in Rank Math > Sitemap Settings > Posts > Image Custom Fields, this would help Rank Math detect the images.

Rank Math is designed to model the way search engines view and index images, focusing more on images embedded in the main content of a page. This is because search engines typically prioritize images that are part of the primary content, rather than those used as background images, galleries, or sliders in themes.
Unfortunately, Rank Math does not automatically detect images located in theme folders or those set via background or slider settings.
