Hi, After an inspection with tools like SEOZOOM or even with in browser inspection tools, the
img src attribute url is empty, or it is automatically assigned as the logo of the website.
This happesn in all my pages and articles, and all of them have an image, alt title and all attributes are assigned via rankmaths free version tools.
I am using Divi theme, i don’t know if there is any compatibility issue.
you can see better what i mean also with the Facebook debugger linke in this page
https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/?q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.antonellacrisafulli.it%2Fabout%2Fhow can i solve it?
thanks

Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
The issue you are facing might be occurring due to the Gzip compression option within your caching plugin. Can you please disable this option from your cache plugin and clear your site’s cache?
Also, please try to use an image of 1200px X 630px dimension.
After resizing the image and disabling the Gzip compression option, clear the website cache and Scrape the URL with the Facebook Sharing debugger again.
This should fix the issue.
Hope that helps.
Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
Hi, this seems a bit odd,
I installed WP rocket because the plugin uses Gzip settings to chache the website.
Disabling it will make my website slower.
also, i already used in the past the combination of divi + wprocket and i never had the same issue.
is Gzip not compatible with rankmath?Hello,
When I checked the URL https://www.antonellacrisafulli.it/about/ in Facebook Debugger, I noticed 2 things:
1. The
og:imagethat you have set on your site is different from the one that is appearing on Facebook. The possible cause of this issue could be the image size which is currently set as 620 x 503.
The recommended image dimensions by Facebook are
1200px X 630pxand the supported image types arejpeg, png, and gif, so I suggest you resize and reupload the social image.2. Another issue that the Facebook debugger shows is – The ‘og:image’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.
This issue happens when you have the property but it’s so far down the page that the debugger ignores it completely because it won’t crawl the entire page to find those tags.
Try to set the meta tags as one of the first things on the page and then run the page through the debugger again.
You can have a look at this knowledge base for further troubleshooting the issue – https://rankmath.com/kb/ogimage-property-should-be-explicitly-provided/
Please follow the above 2 steps and scrape your page again in Facebook Debugger.
Let us know how it goes.
Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you.
Hi
thanks for your nice reply.
as for 1) image size, i cannot change the maximum width and height because this is the structure of the page, even on other pages.
the image has to be part of the line and not full size.
as for 2) The ‘og:image’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.
this is wordpress so i cannot change the metatag structure on the website, (or if i can, i have no idea how).
on the rank math page https://rankmath.com/kb/ogimage-property-should-be-explicitly-provided/ it states that if i install rank math (and it is installed) and set the image properties, which i did now, cancelled the cache and debugged again. but nothing changes.
one question: there is maybe any additional option on Rank Math Pro that (compared to free version) is specifically created to solve this, that is a Facebook thumbnail issue?Hello,
You don’t need to resize the image on the page of your site.
You can simply head over to the page, click on the “Social” tab under Rank Math Meta Box, and add a separate image with size
1200px x 630px. The image should either be in jpeg, png, of gif formats. Please have a look at the below gif to understand how to add a separate image that should show up in the Facebook Debugger –
In case you are having difficulty in understanding how to upload the image, you can share the resized image of 1200px x 630px and your WordPress login credentials in the sensitive data section, and we will be happy to help you out.
Hope this helps.
Let us know how this goes.
Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you.
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
Hi, thanks for the instructions.
i followed them, added a larger image as thumb, erased caching, debuged with FB tool but still it keeps the logo as image. (logo image is the first one available on each page of website due to theme structure).Hello,
We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/
You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/
We really look forward to helping you.
Thank you.
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
Hello,
I have investigated this issue further and found that if you check what the Facebook scrapper sees, you’ll notice that the meta tags are all after the opening
bodytag. The debugger only checks the meta tags inside the
headtag and as such is ignoring the ones on your website because they are outside that tag. Here’s what the scrapper is seeing: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/echo/?q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.antonellacrisafulli.it%2Fabout%2F
This is usually an issue on how the theme is set up and we recommend getting in touch with the theme provider and seeing if they have ever experienced this before.
Hope this helps.
Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you.
thanks a lot, i will do that! thanks for your care and time dedicated to this issue.
