Hallo, I have a slight problem with the html image Title field! Only one of the three way I can add an image to a page/post by default uses the Title field of the image. I am thinking of using RankMath to add back in the missing original image Title. The RankMath option to add text to an image missing an image title field works great, however the %title% gets the title of the page/post that the image is added to. Apologies if this is long-winded…
Workflow being used is:
An image title (and caption) is entered during editing images via the IPTC meta;
File uploaded via the wordpress Media Library – Title (and caption) is auto filled from the IPTC meta;
Manually add Alt text and (if any) Description;
All works good.
*At the moment during testing the RankMath facility to add missing Title field is disabled by choice.*
Add image into page/post via WPBakery image module or theme supplied image module – no title tag.
Add image into page/post via a standard text block (non-gutenberg) and Add Media button – title tag from image exists!
Most if not all images are ‘attached’ to a page or post and the image attachment page redirects to page/post image has been ‘attached’ to.
RankMath will add in an html Title tag where there is none presented by wordpress (even though it exists in image details).
>>> Can something be added to the RankMath missing title filter(?) that will read/fetch/get either the value in the image IPTC data or the Title of the image as listed in the Media Library Title field? I am not sure that the attachment page title will be any good as the RankMath redirect is set-up for image attachment pages to redirect to page/post the image is now ‘attached’ to (as seen in the Media Library).If there is a something that can be added between a “% %” in the Missing Title box that gets image Title? If so, all will be good. (I reckon anyway).
Liking the plug-in – so many options.
Thanks.
