Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.
WordPress makes it possible to add custom meta to your posts using custom fields. If your site makes use of native custom fields or you have a third party plugin that adds image values to your posts then this feature is for you.
If you want to add these values to your sitemap for example from a field called “hero_image” then you will need to edit this option and add this field name for the values to be listed on your sitemap.
I hope this info helps. Thank you.
That’s an issue that is still not clear to me.
Could you send me some link where I can see practical examples to understand it better?
Hi Rogerio,
Thanks for the follow up.
I am afraid that I do not have access to a live environment with this implementation. I have however shared some screenshots below to showcase the process of adding an image to your post and sitemap.
1). I have added a custom image field to save an image URL for my single posts as shown below:
2). I have then gone ahead and edited my single-posts page template to display the custom image on my single posts as shown below:
3). Next, adding this custom field value to my post sitemap:
4). Refresh the sitemap and the image is assigned to the post on the sitemap and will be indexed under this post:
I hope this info helps. Thank you.
It’s perfect!
Thank you so much for your effort and your kindness in helping.
