    Rank Math free

Hi, I switched from Yoast to Rankmath a few days ago using your wizard but I have a problem with the sitemap. Right now, the sitemap that was in my Google webmaster shows as “Couldn’t fetch” and most of my pages are indexed but not submitted to the sitemap.

I also went to the Rankmath settings in my WP Dashboard. Over there, I see the message: Your sitemap index can be found here: (link in the Sensitive Data field) but when I click on the link, I’m taken to a 404 page. Can you please tell me is there an additional step I have to take for the sitemap when switching from Yoast to Rankmath and how can I solve this?

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Can you please follow these steps?
    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
    https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

That should fix the issue. Please let me know if that does not. We are here to assist

Hi, thank you for your response. I did the steps you mentioned and this did help. There are only two pages that are outside of the index according to the Search Console. I suppose that’s the case because it might take some time to reflect the changes. Thank you for your help.

    Hello

If there are no errors that are comping up on your GSC, this should update as soon as Google crawls your pages.

Let us know if this is resolved. Thank you
