    The problematic code is this.

    <h1 class="site-title"><a href="https://giocone.com/" rel="home">Giocone</a></h1>

    I deactivated the theme and the additional H1 is gone. I hid Display Site Title and Tagline with the theme enabled but the problem persists. Theme support after 4 weeks was unable to resolve the issue. Do I add custom CSS with display none?

    Hello,

    Thank you for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.

    If this tag is generated by your theme, I would suggest checking with them as they are in the best position to remove it for you.

    Adding CSS might work but there may still be a chance that Google will be able to crawl the href value.

    Content optimization wise, it should be fine to use CSS to hide it.
