HTML Sitemap Page issue

    Rank Math free

Hi, I installed RankMath SEO specifically for the integrated HTML sitemap function you offer. It seems like it should be a simple process of creating this page, but I’m having trouble.

I would like my HTML sitemap to be a separate page.

For this, I created a blank page at url xyz.com/sitemap. Then when I go into the RankMath sitemap module, I swap from Shortcode to Page. When I type anything in the bar though, nothing shows up at all. I try typing Sitemap and get nothing. I’ve tried a bunch of other words relating to the site just to see if any page will show up, and it just says “The results could not be loaded”

I’m sure this is a simple fix, but I have no idea why this isn’t easily working.

    Thanks for your help!

  • Hello

Thanks for contacting us and sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Check for JavaScript errors in the console on the edit screen. If you find them, please send a screenshot.
You can read how to find the Javascript error by going through this article: https://rankmath.com/kb/meta-data-not-saving/#js-errors

Whenever we write something in the text box there, in the backend a query runs to fetch all the pages that matches what’s written in the text box. If nothing is appearing, that means some Javascript from other plugin is hindering the normal way the Rank Math works.

If there are no errors, please follow this guide to check if the issue is coming from a plugin conflict: https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank You

    Hello,

    Thank you for your patience.

From your screenshot, the error /admin-ajax.php is returning 400.

If your web hosting is blocking this kind of request, it’s expected that this fails on the website.

In this case, please get in touch with your web host and check the firewall for those kinds of URLs.

Let us know how this goes.

    Thank you.

Hi Sandeepan, I contacted the company that initially built my website as they are handling the hosting for now, so I won’t have any further info or updates probably until much later. I’ll keep you updated though.

    Hello,

Sure, let us know how this goes.

Meanwhile, please don’t hesitate to contact us anytime if you have other questions to assist you further.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

Hi, I just wanted to give an update.

I emailed back and forth with two companies trying to figure out the conflict, and we attempted a number of solutions including whitelisting a laundry list of addresses, but nothing solved the problem.

In the end, I just went and figured a different route to implement the HTML sitemap, and that appears to be working.

I just really have no idea why I couldn’t find any pages via RankMath’s search. It would have been nice just to have a box where I could simply input my own URL instead of having the plugin try to fetch a page.

Anyway, since I have what I was looking for (even if it’s in a different method), I feel like we can close this topic.

    Have a great weekend!
