Hello,
Thanks for contacting us. Sorry for the delay and any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
The best practice for syndicated posts is to set a canonical URL of the original posts. But since you don’t want to add a canonical URL and index these posts as well, you can simply create these posts like you would normally create your posts. There are no different SEO settings for syndicated posts that you will need to apply.
Hope this helps. Let us know if you need any further assistance.
Hello! Thanks a lot for your reply.
Can you please tell me if I do that, without canonical tag, would that upset google and affect negatively the authority or ranking of both my sites?
thanks a lot
Hello,
Thank you for the reply.
If there are duplicate contents without using canonical tags, then Google may see it as a copy-pasted content i.e, duplicate content issues, and may result in de-indexing/not indexing the post. It can even affect your second website’s reputation.
In this case, all the guidelines that are set for duplicate contents would be applied. Please have a look at the below guide for a quick reference: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/advanced/guidelines/duplicate-content
Hope that helps.
Thank you.
Understood thank you so much for your help and for sharing the source. It helps a lot indeed! have a great day!
