  • Hello, I apologize for the issue you are facing with unwanted permalinks on your website.

To prevent unwanted permalinks on your website using the free version of Rank Math, you can easily set up redirections. This feature ensures that any attempts to access an old URL are automatically redirected to the new address, preventing any loss of website traffic due to broken links.

Here’s how you can do it:

    1. Navigate to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → Redirections.
      Navigate to Redirections

    2. In the Redirections Manager, click the Add New button to create a new redirection.
Add New Redirection in Rank Math

By following these steps, you can easily manage and prevent unwanted permalinks on your website using Rank Math’s free version.

If you need further assistance or have any more questions, feel free to reach out to our dedicated support team here. Thank you for raising this concern!

Any ways to do this automatically? Manually adding redirections will consume time

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Could you please confirm if you’re referring to the {search_term_string} URLs? If so, you can add the following disallow rule in your robots.txt file to prevent Google from crawling these URLs:

    User-Agent: *
    Disallow: *{search_term_string}*

Here’s a guide on how to edit your robots.txt using Rank Math:

Once done, give Google some time to recrawl your site to reflect the changes.

Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.
