When I add a new project category page, the Permalink in the Snippet Editor is always not customisable There will be /project-category/ in the middle
e.g. the page content is about cat and I want the url to be like this: https://www.domain.com/cat/
But it gives me this: https://www.domain.com/project-category/cat/

I want to change the structure of the url but I don’t know where to change it.
Can you tell me what to do?? Thank you very much.
    Sending good wishes.

  • Hello,

I apologize for the inconvenience you are facing with the permalink structure on your project category pages. To change the permalink structure of a page in WordPress, you can follow these steps:

    1. Go to WordPress Settings → Permalinks as shown in the screenshot below:

    Go to Permalinks

    1. Select the desired permalink structure that suits your needs. You can choose a custom structure to remove the unwanted parts from the URL.

    2. If you want to change the URL slug for an individual post or page, you can edit the post/page and modify the slug. In the Classic Editor, click on Edit below the post to change the URL. In Gutenberg, find the URL slug in the Article → Permalink section.

    Slug for post/page
    Gutenberg -Slug

By following these steps, you should be able to customize the permalink structure of your project category pages as desired. If you encounter any issues or need further assistance, please let us know.

Thank you for reaching out, and best wishes to you!

My custom permalink looks like this
    https://www.domain.com/sample-post/
It doesn’t have /project-category/ in the middle

    Hello,

If the custom post type contains /project-category/, then Rank Math cannot remove it from the slug.

In that case, you can use a third-party plugin that can achieve that on your slugs:
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/permalink-manager/

    Looking forward to helping you.

The specific information page can be edited according to the URL I want, only some URL of the category page always has the name of the category in the middle, which is not defined by me, and I don’t know where to change it, which is really annoying!

    Hello,

If you’re using a plugin or your theme generates the post type, you should get in touch with their developers for assistance removing that in their slugs.

Otherwise, you may need to use the permalink manager plugin to force the removal of /project-category/ in their slug.

    Looking forward to helping you.
