How to set category archive pages to noindex, follow

    Hi,

I currently have my category archive pages set to ‘noindex’ in Rankmath. However, I believe this automatically also sets them to ‘no-follow’. I need them to be set to ‘follow’ as it’s important that the links to the posts are still followed by crawlers for internal linking purposes.

How can I set my category archive pages to be ‘no-index’ BUT ALSO ‘follow’ please?

    Thanks
    Tanya

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting the support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Please head over to your WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > titles & Meta > Categories, enable the option “Category Archives Robots Meta” and in here, you can mark category archive as no-index and leave the “Nofollow” unchecked. This will be applied globally to your post categories.

You can also do this for your individual categories. Just ensure “Add SEO Controls” option is enabled under the same settings page.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

That’s great thanks and was actually already how I had it set, so it’s all good.
