  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

This issue is due to the blank sitemap entry in your post sitemap.

For initial troubleshooting, please follow the steps below to ensure that your sitemaps are not getting cached (if not yet):

    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
    https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

If the issue still persists, please try adding this filter to your active theme’s functions.php file:

    add_filter( 'rank_math/sitemap/enable_caching', '__return_false');

Let us know how this goes.

    Thank you.

i tried all three ways but my sitemap is still showing same error. https://imgur.com/a/stGCqgI

    Hello,

In this case, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

After going through a few troubleshooting steps, it looks like the blank line isn’t being added by Rank Math and is not a property added by Rank Math.

Hence, initially, I’m assuming this might be a plugin conflict. But it looks like the Health Check plugin isn’t working properly on your site.

Since this is your live site, deactivating plugins and switching themes might cause issues.

Is it possible for you to create a staging site for us? So that we can troubleshoot this issue further there without fearing breaking your live site.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you

i dont know that how to creat staging site, can you give me reference where I can learn about it

    Hello,

You can follow this guide to learn how to create the staging site: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-create-staging-environment-for-a-wordpress-site/

    Looking forward to helping you.

i am unable to create stage site, because it can only possible with paid plugin, and i want to let you know that my actual website URL https://www.myhomemykitchen.com is missing in sitemap as i checked other website their website URL is visible and in my sitemap it’s showing blank line, if it’s not possible to resolve let me know so I will try to another SEO plugin maybe it will resolve.

The error message indicates that there is an invalid URL on line 4 of your sitemap file, specifically within the <loc> tag. The <loc> tag is used to specify the URL of a particular page in the sitemap.

To resolve this problem, you can follow these steps:

Open your sitemap file in a text editor or XML editor.
Locate line 4 and examine the URL specified within the <loc> tag.
Ensure that the URL is properly formatted and includes all necessary components (such as the protocol, domain, and path).
Check for any special characters or spaces within the URL that could render it invalid.
Save the modifications to your sitemap file.
Submit the updated sitemap to the appropriate search engine or tool.
If you’re uncertain about the specific issue or require further assistance, I recommend consulting the documentation or support resources provided by the platform or tool you’re using to generate your sitemap. They may provide additional guidance on resolving common sitemap errors.

    Hello,

It seems like you haven’t selected a Posts Page in WP Dashboard > Settings > Reading > Your Homepage Displays:

That’s why the archive URL section is empty in the post sitemap. Please select a page in the settings where you want to display an archive of your posts and the issue should be fixed after that.

Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you.

yes, I select the latest post instead of the home page and post page, but it’s not affected by this setting because I have been following these settings since last year and this issue appeared for 2 months. i have 2 another site https://www.bestoflens.com/sitemap_index.xml and https://www.techezio.com/sitemap_index.xml and they have similar setting and their sitemaps are completely fine

    Hello,

Please reactivate the login link or create & share a new one so we can log in and check this further.

    Looking forward to helping you.

Done now again you can access via same link.
    Thank you

    Hello,

    Thank you for your patience.

We have already forwarded this to our development team for further investigation.

However, we may need to access your files so we can conduct troubleshooting of the empty line in the sitemap.

Please also add your website’s FTP login credentials in the sensitive data section. In this way, we can revert any changes immediately while troubleshooting.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

I am using amazon aws Lightsail and it is based on Bitnami server so they don’t have options for FTP, but I have installed file manager in WordPress you can check files in it and also you download and upload after making changes in files, my previous provide temporary login link is still enable.
