How to properly change over from Yoast

    Hi,

I am increasingly disappointed with the Yoast Bundle for many reasons. I have Yoast Pro and the Yoast for WooCommerce bundle for $145 a year and it’s going up to $178 a year, but without offering a whole lot.

My site is built with WordPress and the Divi Theme.

I wanted to know a few things:

    1. How do I change over so I don’t lose all my tags and SEO optimization I have done for my pages, blog posts, and products?

    2. I also don’t want to lose my 301 redirects that Yoast has in place, my Robots.txt and all the tech backend info.

    3. Do you have some training videos on how to use Rank Math Correctly? Because it looks like it has WAY more features than Yoast and I don’t know how to use a lot of it. Like the tracking and keyword stuff.

    4. Is Rank Math hard to learn? Is there a learning curve?

    5. Is your software compatible with SEMRush or does it do some of the same things SEMRush does like tracking my site’s progress?

Any clarification you can give would be great!

Thank you very much for your time and help. I really appreciate it.

    Have a good day.

    Hilary

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issues you’re facing with Yoast and appreciate you reaching out with your questions. Here’s how you can transition to Rank Math without losing your SEO settings:

    1. Migrating from Yoast to Rank Math: Rank Math has a built-in feature that allows you to import your SEO settings from Yoast. This includes your tags, SEO optimization for pages, blog posts, and products. However, please note that while Rank Math can import metadata like SEO titles and descriptions, it does not automatically transfer 301 redirects or other specific settings like Robots.txt. You will need to manually set up your 301 redirects in Rank Math after the migration. For detailed guidance, you can refer to our migration guide.

    2. 301 Redirects and Technical Settings: As mentioned, while Rank Math can import some settings, you will need to manually configure your 301 redirects and any technical backend information like Robots.txt after switching. We recommend keeping a backup of your current settings in Yoast before migrating.

    3. Training Videos: We do have a variety of resources available to help you get started with Rank Math. You can find tutorials and guides on our knowledge base that cover various features, including tracking and keyword optimization. Additionally, we offer a professional setup service for users who want to ensure their plugin setup is fully correct and adheres to the latest SEO standards. You can learn more about this service here.

    4. Learning Curve: While there may be a slight learning curve due to the extensive features Rank Math offers, many users find it intuitive and user-friendly. The tutorials available will help you navigate through the features effectively.

    5. Compatibility with SEMRush: Rank Math does not directly integrate with SEMRush, but it offers many features that help track your site’s progress, such as keyword tracking and performance analysis. You can use both tools in conjunction to maximize your SEO efforts.

If you have any further questions or need assistance during the migration process, please feel free to reply to this ticket, and a human agent from our support team will assist you further.

Thank you for considering Rank Math! Have a great day!

For your setup and installing help, the $99 version says Advanced SEO.

Can you please clarify the difference between the two PRO setup options.

Also, does Yoast store my 301’s some place so I can get them and move them manually so I don’t lose them? Where do I find them please?

Does the $99 configuration do this for me?

I just don’t want to mess this up. I have spent a TON of time getting my store and website ready to go live in a few weeks time and I really don’t need a major setback right now – you know?

    Thank you!

    Hilary

    Hello,

Here’s how to smoothly transition from Yoast to Rank Math and address your questions:

    • Rank Math includes a built‑in importer for Yoast SEO. You can transfer your existing SEO titles, meta descriptions, focus keywords, and redirects via Rank Math → Status & Tools → Import & Export → import from Yoast SEO. For more details, you can check this guide: https://rankmath.com/kb/yoast-seo-migration/
    • Yoast redirects can be imported automatically. However, robots.txt rules, sitemap settings, and technical configurations will need to be manually reviewed and set up within Rank Math.
    • We offer extensive documentation, video walkthroughs, and setup guides on our knowledge base. These include tutorials on keyword tracking, SEO analysis, and using Rank Tracker and Content AI. You can start from here: https://rankmath.com/kb/how-to-setup/
    • WooCommerce + Divi support: Rank Math fully supports WooCommerce and Divi, including advanced options for product SEO, schema markup, and on‑page optimization features.

If you’d like a smoother switch without worrying about manual setup, our $99 Premium care configuration service can take care of it, including meta settings, schema, and Advanced SEO. Please see what is included here: https://rankmath.com/services/

Let us know if you have any further questions.
