How to get year in blog post title to automatically update

    Hi, I’m adding dates to all my posts titles. But how do I get it so that it will automatically update.

    I went into single post titles and added this to the end %currentyear%

    I then went and changed 2 titles to 2021 to see if it would auto update, but nothing.

    I’m I doing this write or is there something else I need to do?

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

    The %currentyear% variable already displays the year word in your titles/description, and it won’t be applied to a word you have modified.

    For example, your current title is: “My test post – %currentyear%”
    Then, it will display now – “My test post – 2022”

    Next year, the title will be changed automatically to: “My test post – 2023”
