  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting the support and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

That URL of the sitemap of the website should return a noindex status code because you wouldn’t want to index the sitemaps from your website, but rather only the pages that are inside the sitemap.

That directive on the sitemap prevents it from appearing on SERPs but it doesn’t prevent Google from crawling the pages on it and indexing them.

If you test any sitemap, even from big websites you’ll see that most use this directive to be sure it’s not getting included on SERPs.

To submit the sitemap to the correct place on GSC you should follow the steps in this tutorial: https://rankmath.com/kb/submit-sitemap-to-google/

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

So Is my site map working good ? (see sensitive data above) I want to inform Google about posts, pages and cats.

    Hello,

Yes, the sitemap is good and working.

Though I see few lines of codes missing robots.txt file. Please add the following code in robots.txt file by navigating to Rank Math > General Settings > Edit robots.txt

    User-Agent: *
    Disallow: /wp-admin/
    Allow: /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php

    Sitemap: https://www.yourdomain.com/sitemap_index.xml

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Thank you

    Thank you so much.

    I can’t EDIT my robots.txt thru Rank Math > General Settings > Edit robots.txt

I have this message : Le contenu est verrouillé car un fichier robots.txt est présent dans le dossier racine.

(translation : The content is locked because a robots.txt file is present in the root folder.)

    What must I do ?

I can add this to my robots.txt
but on my hosting, I have several website (wp) in the same hosting.

    What must I do ?

Also, can you delete your comment with the URL on my website ? because it is public actually.

    thanks

    Hello,

As per the error there’s another robots.txt file, would you please delete. To delete you need the file manager access or use plugin like https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-file-manager/. Once the file in deleted, you’ll be able to edit it.

Also, I’m extremely sorry that I added the full URL in my answer. I’ll edit that answer and remove it.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Thank you

    Thank you very much.

I have 1 robots.txt for all my website on the same hosting.

I have edited the Sensitive Data blog to explain it.

How can I do ? Can you tell me ?

    Hello,

As each of your website uses Rank Math, I would suggest delete this robots.txt and let Rank Math generate the robots.txt for each website. This way, we can be sure that the correct robots.txt is being created.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Thank you

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hi,

my answer in sensitive data box.

    Thanks for help !

    Hello,

Your robots.txt is already working fine.

You can view your robots.txt in the link I’ve attached in the sensitive data section as well.

Also, please note that it is normally fine if you’re unable to see the robots.txt file in your FTP or website files. Rank Math creates it on your website dynamically/virtually, so you won’t see the actual file in your website directory.

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you.
