How does translated content is ranked

My daughter is a therapist and has a few articles published on her therapy consultant blog in english
She said I could translate it to portuguese and post it on my own blog, mentioning it as authorized by her
and showing her name as the author.
Is it a regular practice or would Google penalize her or me for doing that?

  • Hello,

Thank you for getting in touch with us.

Translated content is NOT DUPLICATE content and should therefore have not much effect on your pages Ranking. The translated article, however, will tend to come up in localized regions related to the language, especially if it has href tags linking to a certain language. Here is an article that explains this in detail: https://neilpatel.com/blog/how-to-deal-with-duplicate-content-issues-including-those-created-by-your-cms/

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

Thank you so very much, Michael!
