How do I remove the site tag from showing in Google but still show on homepage

    Hi, so I’m trying to make only my site name (without the tag line) show in Google whenever the name of my site is searched.

    For example, if Vogue is searched on Google, it shows “Vogue” only, then when you go to the homepage vogue.co.uk, it shows the tag line “British Vogue – Fashion trends, latest news, catwalk photo…”

    Please how can I do that.

    I tried editing the snippet of rankmath in my home page by clearing the Tagline and only leaving the site name but it’s showing the site name only on Google and also when the page is accessed.

    Title/description not matching is pretty common with Google these days. Happening with 70% of the results that even if everything’s fine, Google can choose to show a different meta title/description for your search keyword.

    Recently Google made some changes to their algorithm that automatically changes the titles, discarding the one you have set in your SEO title. This happens regardless of the SEO plugin you are using. We have covered this update here: https://rankmath.com/google-update/google-title-rewrite-update/

    The best approach here is further optimizing the title and the desired keyword on your website to better match the user’s search intent, and hopefully, Google would use it in the future.
