    Hi!

This is the same excerpt, which does not reflect the actual excerpt
from the articles. And I have this issue with multiple posts and pages.

How do I fix that? I ask because I did add an excerpt for posts in RankMath,
but I still have same for multiple posts and page on Google search results.

Please see attached file for more details.

  • Hello,

I apologize for the issue you are facing with the same excerpt appearing for multiple posts and pages on Google. To resolve this, you can follow these steps:

    1. Set Custom Excerpts: Ensure that you have set unique excerpts for each post and page. In the Classic editor, you can find the Excerpt metabox on your post editing screen. If it’s not visible, click on Screen Options at the top of the screen and enable Excerpt.

    2. Edit Snippet in Rank Math: For better control over how your excerpts appear in search results, you can set a custom meta description. In the post editing screen, click the Rank Math icon, then in the General tab of the Rank Math metabox, click Edit Snippet and enter your custom meta description.

      Navigate to Edit Snippet

    3. Check for Duplicate Content: If you have multiple posts or pages with similar content, Google may choose to display the same excerpt. Make sure that each post or page has unique content to avoid this issue.

    4. Use Canonical URLs: If applicable, ensure that you are using canonical URLs correctly to indicate to Google which version of a page should be indexed. You can set this in the Rank Math meta box under the Advanced tab.

    5. Re-index Your Pages: After making these changes, you may need to request Google to re-index your pages through Google Search Console.

If you continue to experience issues after following these steps, please reply to this ticket with your site URL so we can assist you further. Thank you for raising this concern!

When I use the “Edit Snippet in Rank Math” feature I can see that there is a unique excerpt for the posts, but on Google I still have the same excerpt for most posts and pages.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

We checked some of your pages and we can confirm Rank Math is adding the correct meta description there. You can also check the meta description by using https://rankmath.com/tools/meta-tag-analyzer/ and https://www.heymeta.com/

However, please note that nowadays, Google does that very commonly. Even when everything is fine, Google may choose to display a different meta description or no description for your search query result. Google may skip the custom metadata you have set and instead display something from the page’s content that better matches the search intent.

You can follow this URL for details on this issue:

Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.
