How can I remove noindex from my sitemap?

When running my site through Screaming Frog to check on the meta data, I’m finding that the .XML sitemaps all have noindex tags associated with them and I would like to remove these. When looking at my configuration of sitemaps in Rank Math, everything looks normal.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

It is completely normal for the sitemap files to be set to No Index since you do not want them to be indexed on SERPs.

The sitemaps are intended to be crawled by the search engines but they are not to be indexed/displayed on the search results and hence the sitemaps are kept as No Index.

Also, setting the sitemap to No Index does not, in any manner prevent, the sitemaps from getting crawled by the search engine bots.

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you.

    Thank you for clarifying!
