It looks like your theme might be adding the other meta description:

Please remove that from your theme’s header.php file or ask your theme provider how to do that.

In addition to meta description, it looks like there are overlapping options between the theme I use and RankMath. They include:
Enable custom title
Enable meta description
Enable meta keywords
Enable canonical URL’s
Homepage custom title (if enabled)
Homepage meta description (if enabled)
Homepage meta keywords (if enabled)
If custom titles are disabled, choose autogeneration method
Blog description | BlogName
Define a character to separate BlogName and Post title
Choose title autogeneration method
Do you recommned to disable all? Can RankMath take care of every one of them?

So, you can safely disable those options in your theme.
