The only way to do that with shortcode is not to use the shortcode where you don’t want it to appear.
Unlike PHP code, there is no option to selectively show or hide the breadcrumb code.

It’s a global header, so not a great way to leave it out of the homepage. this would be a great config option to add to breadcrumbs in the future. Thanks!
