If you can’t see the changes there, then there might be some other plugins or your current theme that is hindering Rank Math to generate the meta description. To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide: https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/
Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

Yes, it doesn’t work on my end.
I tried with troubleshot mode. Still the meta description doesn’t change.

Changing the Meta Description format in the global settings would not change the format for the existing/old posts. It would affect only the newer posts that you’ll create.
We have advanced bulk editing features in the PRO version of Rank Math (like the CSV format editing) that can be used to easily make changes site-wide. Here’s a guide regarding it: https://rankmath.com/kb/editing-seo-meta-at-scale/#csv
In the Free version of Rank Math, you can use the Bulk Editing via the WordPress admin area to make changes to the meta description without opening the posts: https://rankmath.com/kb/editing-seo-meta-at-scale/#wp
