    Hello Community,

Thank you for your precious help, I really need a solution, I’m stuck…

When I started my WordPress site I never cared about SEO, I recently (and also in November) sent on Google Console my new site map https://rawdajewels.com/sitemap_index.xml but it does not change what Google index my pages.

I’m sorry but I’m a beginner in SEO, why is it that if I submit my new sitemap it doesn’t update the pages by checking those deleted and those added?

My problem : It’s been 3 months since November, but Google is still indexing pages that I deleted from my WordPress 3 months ago, and it’s not indexing ANY of my pages on WordPress on which I’ve worked on SEO via rank math.

Simply: What can I do to have my site completely updated on google search, so that all the old pages are definitely removed from Google and only my new pages remain, in other words, so that it takes into account my site map which is up to date.

Also, when I provide the site map to google, it can’t fetch the information except in /page-sitemap.xml

What should I do? I’ve provided clear images showing my problem through this link, so you’ll have everything you need: https://imgur.com/a/2YRteSz

Thank you very much, I hope to find a solution, I’m really lost…

    Have a nice day

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

We checked your sitemap and we can see it is working properly without any issues.

In this case, please try to follow the steps below and see if that works for you:

    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
    https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

Once done, clear your website cache, remove all the submitted sitemap, and resubmit only the /sitemap_index.xml in the Search Console.

If the issue persists, please try to follow this guideline for further troubleshooting: https://rankmath.com/kb/couldnt-fetch-error-google-search-console/

Regarding the deleted pages, please note that Google can crawl and index your pages even if they are not present on your sitemap.

However, you can use the URL inspection tool of your GSC account to check the URLs and view the referring page to make sure from where they are coming. Also, you can check the last crawled date to make sure when the pages were last updated on SERPs.

Meanwhile, you can also use the Removals tool in Google Search Console to remove this URL from SERPs: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/9689846?hl=en

Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.
