GTIN Update?

I was getting a google message about needing an identifier. I followed the instructions in Rank Math knowledge base to ad the GTIN-8 but the GTIN is not appearing in my products. If a change is made after a product is published does it update all previous products or just new items?

  • Hello,

I apologize for the inconvenience you are facing with the GTIN not appearing on your products despite following the instructions in the Rank Math knowledge base.

When you update the GTIN for a product in WooCommerce using Rank Math, the change should apply to that specific product. It does not automatically update all previously published products. You will need to manually update the GTIN for each product individually.

If you are still experiencing issues with the GTIN not showing up on your products after following the steps, please ensure that you have saved the changes correctly by clicking on the "Update" button on the product editor page.

If the issue persists or if you have any further questions, please feel free to reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.

Thank you for reaching out with your concern.

Is there a formula or format for creating a GTIN number?

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that this issue might have caused.

Kindly refer to this guide on how to configure the GTIN with Rank Math: https://rankmath.com/kb/gtin-mpn-woocommerce/

Google also allows having brand name as an alternative. These are not mandatory but you’ll get warnings and the performance may be limited by Google. But still, your products will remain eligible to serve.

If you don’t have a GTIN/MPN, our plugin will not add it to the Schema. You can set the identifier_exist variable as False in the product feed to get the GTIN exemption and get your products listed: https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/6324478?hl=en

Hope that helps. Let us know if you need any other assistance.
