No I do not think that your domain name will affect your overall site SEO when this is rolled out. The recommendation from the article is to modify your current links with the sponsored tag bu you do not need to modify the nofollow tags.

would be funny, so, if sponsored as name of a tag and same time name of my site, brings nothign, then I can stop the plans to get nofollow as domain name.
