Pre-sales/installation question – Whether to use Google Site Kit if I am turning off Analytics

I read your article about using Google Site Kit https://rankmath.com/kb/google-site-kit-compatibility/

I want to add Google Tag Manager capability as part of my setup for Google Analytics, and the question is the best way to do that.

If I use RankMath, your recommendation is not to use Google Site Kit. In that case, I suppose that I would use https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/duracelltomi-google-tag-manager/. I have used this before, but I was thinking that Google’s Site Kit was probably a more reliable way to connect Google Tag Manager.

If I follow your suggested override of turning off Analytics in RankMath, to allow using Google Site Kit, please would you outline the main functionality which I would not be able to use in RankMath, thinking of the comparison of functionality which you list on https://rankmath.com/wordpress/plugin/seo-suite/#comparison

    With best regards,

    Nicholas

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

If you disable our Analytics module in favor of other implementations or plugins you’ll lose everything that is related to that specific module such as the Rank Tracker and the possibility of seeing the overall analytics data on your website coming from Google Analytics and Google Search Console.

Everything else will still be accessible to you such as sitemap generation, Schema markup, and templates, amongst all the other PRO features.

Hope this helps clarify your doubts.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Hi Miguel,

    Thank you for your response.

As I’m not so clear on what SEO functionality is determined by Google Analytics and Google Search Console, I have listed some of the features on https://rankmath.com/wordpress/plugin/seo-suite/#comparison below. Please would you confirm whether each feature would be available using RankMath if I was not using the RankMath with its Analytics module (i.e. using Site Kit instead):
Content AI (requires extra module, I think)
    Keyword Rank Tracker
    Image SEO Pro
    Local SEO
    Tracking Winning/Losing Keywords and Posts
    Advanced Content SEO Overview
Checking Ranking Keywords for Each Post
Position History for Keywords and Posts
    Validate Schema with Google
    Complete Elementor Integration
    Elementor Breadcrumbs and Accordion
Tracking PageSpeed for Each Post and Page
    Image Text Management
SEO Analysis – excluding Search Console linking
    Powerful Post Optimization
SEO control main items under above heading (Post Optimization) incl. Post Preview on Google.
    Focus Keywords
    Google Keyword suggestion
    Social Previews
Setting up display meta data for AMP pages

I appreciate that this is quite a long list, but I think it includes the main SEO functionality which obviously I am keen to have … whilst recognizing that analytics will be in Google Analytics and, so a certain extent, also in Google Site Kit.

I would appreciate your precise comments on the above.

    Many thanks,

    Nicholas

Please note that disabling the Analytics module in Rank Math will not affect the SEO of your website.

    I hope this helps.
