Google Search “Uploaded By” Displays Wrong Name

    Hey Rank Math Support, I noticed the weirdest thing today…

    Below some of my articles on Google’s Desktop search results, there’s a snippet with the date of the post along with an “Uploaded By” section.

    The problem is that the “Uploaded By” section doesn’t display my own name but rather names that are drawn from Youtube videos I’ve embedded (see image below).

    All my competitors use YouTube videos in their content as well but none of them seems to be facing that same problem.

    Why is that happening?

    Is there any way to fix it?

    Hey, Reinelle, thanks a lot for getting back to me.

    Try searching for the keyword “ibuumerang MLM” (that’s the keyword that drives most of the traffic to that article.)

    This seems to be some kind of featured snippet generated by Google.

    If you search for the same keyword on mobile, you’ll see that the “Uploaded By” is replaced by the actual video.

    Hello,

    You are embedding a video on that page. That video is adding the Schema for the “Uploaded By” text you see in the SERPs.

    This is completely up to Google and Rank Math or you do not have any say in this. You can remove the video to get rid of that Rich info from the SERPs.

    Hey Anas, unfortunately, this doesn’t help…

    What you’re basically saying is that if I want this “Uploaded By” removed I have to delete every single video from 300+ blog posts as well as never use a video embed again.

    Anyway, I understand that this isn’t Rank Math’s fault.

    I just thought that the support team of one of the most well-known SEO plugins would have somewhat deeper insights to offer regarding an SEO issue.

    Clearly, I was wrong.

    As my colleague, this is added automatically by Google whenever you have embedded a video to you page.

    You can however try removing this as shown in this guide – https://www.futurestatemedia.com/how-to-remove-uploaded-by-from-the-google-search-result-snippet/

    That said, there are quite a number of Google related details that are not definitely known to anyone and even Google Search Central Support may not have a direct answer for.
