Google Search Console won’t authorize during install

Hello,

During the setup wizard to authorize the Google Search Console, nothing happens after I paste in the authorize code and click on authorize.

Everything is new and this is my first website. Everything seemed to be going smoothly until I pasted in the authorize code and click on ‘Authorize’. I searched through the knowledge base but didn’t find this exact problem so kind of stuck.

EDIT: I de-activated the plugin and started the wizard over and the problem went away
