  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with Google Search Console showing zero discovered URLs through your sitemap. This can happen for a few reasons, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

    1. Validate Your Sitemap: Ensure that your main sitemap (/sitemap_index.xml) is correctly configured. You can use the Validate XML Sitemap tool to check for any issues. If it returns a success message, then your sitemap is likely set up correctly.

    2. Check Sitemap Location: Make sure that your sitemap is located in the root folder of your WordPress installation. The URL should look like this:
      https://yourdomainname.com/sitemap_index.xml

    3. Ensure Posts Are Set to Index: If all your posts are set to noindex, your sitemap will appear empty. To check this, go to Rank Math SEO → Titles & Meta and ensure that the Index checkbox is enabled for your posts.

    4. Add the Correct Sitemap to Google Search Console: Make sure you have added the correct sitemap URL in Google Search Console under Indexing → Sitemaps. If you haven’t done so, paste sitemap_index.xml in the Add a new sitemap field and click SUBMIT.
Add the sitemap to Google Search Console

    5. Wait for Google to Fetch: Sometimes, it may take time for Google to fetch the sitemap and discover URLs. If you’ve followed all the steps and the issue persists, it might just be a matter of waiting.

If you’ve tried these steps and are still experiencing issues, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further. Thank you for your patience!
