Hello folks. We have a website that consistently shows a Google Search Console error message for schema markup on products (please see screenshot https://ibb.co/ZzbjdXN).

We don’t really know what we’re doing with this issue and are wondering if we sign up for the paid plan of RankMath if this would help, and if we are a paying support client if your support team could walk us through the right changes to make to resolve this problem once an for all.

    thank you.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math, and sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Rank Math takes the schema data from your product pages automatically and turns it into Schema-ready content. Likewise, the aggregateRating and review fields are taken from your actual product reviews that your buyers/customers leave on your products.

If you don’t have any reviews yet, that is going to show up as a warning in the schema testing tool. That’s because Google will actually look for those fields.

Please acquire some reviews and ratings to get rid of the aggregateRating and review warnings.

You can fix the SKU and availability issue easily as well:

We have an option to select the Global Identifier in the PRO plugin, for now, you can fix it by adding that to your products using the custom product attribute feature in WooCommere or you can use this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/product-gtin-ean-upc-isbn-for-woocommerce/

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Anas,

What if the client does not plan on getting reviews and we don’t have a SKU not Quantity to provide via schema? Is there a way to disable all of this so the GSG is not looking for it and throwing up errors when it comes up empty?

    Hello,

Google evaluates the schema based on the required/recommended properties and if the properties are not found, the error/warning would be returned and unfortunately, they cannot be disabled.

You can check the required/recommended properties for product schema here:
    https://developers.google.com/search/docs/advanced/structured-data/product#product

With that being said, warnings do not make the schema invalid and the page would still be eligible for rich results. In case of errors, you should consider fixing them as they do make the schema invalid.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you.
