google search console homepage indexing issue

    Hi,

    WP settings:
    I have a wp multisite with 3 subsites:
     example.com/es/
     example.com/en/
     example.com/
    Rankmath is installed in the network and enabled in each subsite independently.

    The issue:
    In GSC I see what seems to be a misconfiguration for example.com/es/
    As you can see in the image the sitemap is a videositemap, and the reference pages only one is an existing post, and two of them don’t exist for more than a decade.
    The sites map where recently renewed

    example.com/en/ hasn’t this issue.

    The question:
    Is there something wrong in ranckmath configuration?
    Is there something to do to fix this issue?

    Hello,

    Thanks for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    Can you please follow these steps?
    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

    3. Remove all previously submitted sitemaps from your GSC account and resubmit your main sitemap(sitemap_index.xml) and wait for Google to crawl it again.

    That should fix the issue. Please let me know if that does not. We are here to assist.

    Thanks for the answer
    I followed the instructions for example.com/es/ subsite
    And in GSC I deleted all the site maps from:
    example.com/es/
    This is the subsite where the home page has the issue.

    As this is a multisite I have one general instance: example.com
    and one for each subsite.
    Is there a need to repeat the procedure for every subsite and the main example.com?

    Hello,

    Since the issue is only with the /es/ site, you only need to resubmit the sitemap for it. If there are no issues with our sites then you don’t need to repeat the procedure for them.
