    Hi,

    I was just checking our Google Search Console and Google is reporting there are errors with the RankMath auto-generated sitemap.xml. See link below for screenshot:

    https://app.screencast.com/m3DNVfrrBbabX

    I can confirm that those invalid urls are present in our XML sitemap which you can see if you view the source of the following RankMath generated sitemap:

    https://www.beza.net/page-sitemap.xml
    https://www.beza.net/post-sitemap.xml

    Which show URLs like so:

    <image:image>
    <image:loc>http://on|100px|100px|100px|100px</image:loc>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
    <image:loc>http://on|100px|100px|100px|100px</image:loc>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>

  • Hello,

    Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    We have seen this type of issue before with Divi. It happens when you are using the Blurb feature in Divi and using a background image in the Blurb.

    Users have already reported this to Divi but we suggest you notify them as well to move the issue to priority. You can ask them if they have a solution where these background images of blurbs are not included in the sitemaps.

    The functionality of Rank Math being able to see Divi images and adding them to the sitemap was added by the Divi team and that is why it is recommended that you contact them directly.

    However, to fix this issue temporarily, you can disable the Images in the Sitemap option in Rank Math sitemap settings or exclude the specific page from where the image URLs are coming.

    Regarding the post-sitemap issue, we can see some image URLs don’t have the domain name:

    In this case, please try to follow the steps below and see if that works for you:

    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
    https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

    If the issue persists, please follow this guideline to check if any other plugins/themes are conflicting with Rank Math: https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

    Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you for your assistance! I have reached out to Divi and they said they are aware of the issue but can’t provide an ETA for a fix. I have went ahead and disabled images in the sitemap.

    My recommendation is to help the RankMath user base by alerting them when RankMath detects that Divi theme is active that the image option should not be enabled. This will save your users much headaches with losing Google rankings and they would suspect it’s because your SEO plugin is not good.

    Thank you again!

    Hello,

    We understand the inconvenience this issue may cause. The functionality of blur images was added by Divi and our plugin only retrieves those from the content, so the fix needs to come from their end.

    In the meantime, disabling the “Images in Sitemaps” option is the best workaround.

    As for the “alert” suggestion you shared, if this is something we can add, we will surely let you know.

    We appreciate your understanding and will keep striving to improve our plugin.

    Let us know if you need further assistance.

    Hello,

    Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.

    If you still need assistance or any other help, please feel free to open a new support ticket, and we will be more than happy to assist.

    Thank you.
