Google redirects old URL

Hello,

I currently have the following valid URL,
https://stylusdesign.co.jp/vr/

However, Google still redirects the following old URL path to the above,
https://stylusdesign.co.jp/ja/vr/

I didn’t set up redirection to it but Google does it on its own. I have a lot of indexation issues of permalink’s trailing slash so changed the setting to without slash once before and then changed back to with slash. Since then Google probably confuses it, I have no idea what’s going on.

The following two URLs are under Page with redirect, GSC.
https://stylusdesign.co.jp/ja/vr
https://stylusdesign.co.jp/ja/vr/

Should I do something or wait a bit longer? Please help.

Hello,

Thanks for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

The redirection is set by WordPress to avoid 404 errors. WordPress creates these redirects automatically when there is a similarity between permalink slug. Since it is being redirected Google will soon noindex the page and it will not show up in the search results.

You just need to wait until Google crawls your site again and identifies the redirects.
