Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with your .webp images not being indexed properly in Google Search Console. Thank you for providing the URL to your agency website and the screenshot from GSC.
Regarding your question, .webp images are treated differently by Google compared to standard HTML pages. They may appear in the "Crawled – currently not indexed" report because they lack the content and structure that defines a webpage. However, even if they are not indexed in this report, .webp images can still be discovered through Google Image Search.
To improve the chances of your .webp images being indexed, consider the following best practices:
- Ensure Proper Image Dimensions: Make sure your images meet the recommended dimensions for Google Image Search.
- Use Descriptive Filenames: Use relevant keywords in your image filenames to help Google understand the content of the images.
- Add Alt Text: Ensure that you have descriptive alt text for your images, which can help with indexing and accessibility.
- Check Sitemap Configuration: Verify that your sitemap includes the .webp images and that they are correctly linked.
- Monitor Site Quality: As mentioned in our resources, overall site quality can affect indexing. Ensure that your website provides valuable content and adheres to Google’s quality guidelines.
If you continue to experience issues, please reply to this ticket with any additional details or questions, and a human agent from our support team will assist you further.
We hope this helps you resolve the issue!

How to Fix "Crawled – Currently Not Indexed" Error in Google Search Console » Rank Math
Hello,
Please note that the images are only supposed to be indexed in Image Search, and they shouldn’t be submitted to the GSC account as in Google Search Console, the indexing report is for HTML pages, not for the images.
However, even though Google has discovered your image files and crawled them, they are not supposed to be indexed in the normal search results.
You can ignore the status, as the images shouldn’t be indexed in the normal search results.
