The plugin suggested in the thread you are referring to has different sitemap URL structure from Rank math. It should be sitemap.xml instead if sitemap/-index.xml. Please note the plugin is a third-party and to handle issues related to it you will need to get in touch with their support.

Once I logged in, I still saw the Rank Math sitemaps enabled, that is why your sitemap.xml URL was being redirected to sitemap_index.xml.
Once I disabled it, your sitemap is loading, but I don’t think it is loading right, but in that case, it is more an issue in the plugin you are using, since Rank Math already has their sitemaps disabled.

I have contacted the Plugin developer but we couldn’t find a solution.
Will the pro version or the new update of the Plugin feature Google News? If not, when can we expect it to be introduced because, as much as I like Rankmath, it is gonna force me to opt for Yoast premium where it offers Google News.

You should check for a plugin that has worked for others by checking reviews and such.
I cannot specify when the news sitemap will be incorporated into Rank math but we are not far off to achieve this. Please bear with us in this.
