Google Merchant Center Not Updating

    Hello,

I am using google merchant center and having it crawl my website for my product data. It worked great up until about 2 weeks ago. I have added a bunch of products and now it is not recognizing them. I contacted google and they said everything is fine on their side and they asked me to dig into the structured data markup. I am assuming that is what your plug in does?

Can you tell my how often the sitemap/site data is updated for google to crawl? It has been two weeks. I just deleted the entire feed to force it to recrawl and it came back with the same result, so it is definitely something with my site data.

Please help, we are about to get into a busy selling season and I would like to get this working. My website is https://rjdunkin.com

Also it appears my instant indexing is constantly failing, could that be related?

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting the support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

I would like to address the issue with your Instant Indexing first. Could you please share the RAW data when submitting a URL? We would like to see the error details so we can further determine the issue.

As for your sitemap, please ensure that your sitemap is completely excluded from caching. You may follow the steps below:

    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
    https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

    3. After that, remove all your sitemaps from your GSC and resubmit only the primary sitemap (sitemap_index.xml).

As for your issues regarding your products under the GMC, could you please share some of the affected products so we can take a closer look at the structured data?

Looking forward to helping you on this one.

I was also able purge the rank math cache

I was able to correct the instant index issue by regenerating my api key.

Here are a couple affected products:

    https://rjdunkin.com/product/struttn-360-beginner-value-pack/

    https://rjdunkin.com/product/struttn-360-legs/

I had tried clearing the cache, I did not flush the rank math cache. I am not going to be able to get to my computer for a few days, so I will have to mess with that on Monday.

    Hello,

I tested the products using Google’s Rich Results testing tool and though there are no errors shown, a few warnings are shown in the schema. Here are the test results:
    https://search.google.com/test/rich-results/result?id=wQvQrjCXy0-ugP9UQwPTPQ
    https://search.google.com/test/rich-results/result?id=Vw4H5omuRVDZ5wOk3klgqg

Please note that warnings do not make the schema invalid.

However, to fix the warnings, for the warnings in the Local Business schema, you can fill the Address and Phone Number fields under Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Local SEO.

As for the warnings in the product schema, please follow these guides:
    AggregateRating/Review warning: https://rankmath.com/kb/aggregate-rating-error/
    GTIN warning: https://rankmath.com/kb/gtin-mpn-woocommerce/

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you.

Okay, now that I am back I was able to exclude the sitemap files from caching. I flushed the sitemap files from rank math. I then removed all sitemaps from google search console and re-added only the main one. It popped right back up as if it had been recently crawled. I am wondering after all of these changes how long it would take it to make its way into merchant center?

I was thinking despite all of the above the fact that you were able to see the products in Google Search Console that I am thinking that the issue is not with the sitemap or the cache, it is somewhere with Google Merchant Center.

In otherwords, as you point out I see all 30 products in Search Console and not in Merchant Center, so it seems the issue is not with caching or the sitemap and with Google itself. What does your gut tell you?

    Hello,

When Googlebot crawls your sitemap next time hopefully, it will find out these new changes and update them in Google Merchant Center. Yes, it could be an issue with Google not indexing those new pages, so we would suggest you to wait for a while to see if the situation changes.

We hope that helps. Please don’t hesitate to contact us again if you need further assistance.

    Thank you
