Google, ContentKing say some product pages are not in the sitemap – yet they ARE

Some of the product pages are indexed by Google, yet in the search console it tells me that the pages are not in the sitemap. When I looked in the products sitemap, I can see those pages listed there.

I’ve also seen another site audit tool say the same thing as Google. What could be wrong here? The URL struct is domain/product-cat/product so I doubt it’s having a hard time identifying what that is. The product categories are also listed in their own sitemap.

    EDIT:

I believe I’ve found the issue. The product-sitemap.xml shows the product URLs with the slash bar at the end. When I put that link in the search console Google says it’s NOT indexed and that it’s DUPLICATE without canonical.

While for the one without the slash bar it says it’s indexed but NOT in the sitemap.

I noticed Rank Math canonicalizes the urls with the slash bar at the end. So is this an issue with Rank Math or something else?

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

I do not think that this is related to a Rank Math update. Please check for conflicts with some theme code or one of the third party plugins that may be stripping out the trailing slash.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

I’ve solved it. I believe this was a multi-issue, that involved both Broken Link Checker (one setting I’ve enabled) to redirect some pages automatically, and also my permalink settings not ending in the slash bar.

    Thanks.
