Hello, I am receiving the following google console error “Submitted URL marked ‘noindex’”

It seems to be occurring for pages under the /members/ directory which represents users profile page in buddypress.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Please head over to your WP Dashboard > Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Authors > Author Robots Meta and check whether the noindex option has been toggled.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

I selected custom and found no index was ticket.. should i untick this option?

Also for author base, should I replace the value authors with members ?

    Hello,

Thanks for getting back to us.

We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    HI Idris,

    Thanks for the follow up.

This is a false positive, I have checked several member pages and they have been set to index as shown below:
    Robots meta

Please clear your site cache and validate the fix on the search console and let us know if the error will still be reported.

    Thank you.

Hello, what do you mean by it is a false positive?

Ok i will clear my cache, how long does the validation process usually take?

    Hi Idris,

It is likely that Google indexed a cached version of these pages and this is the reason that it reported the noindex error when in real sense the pages have been set to index.

The validation process may take a couple of days or even up to a week.

I hope this info helps. Thank you.
