Google cant reach sitemap

    Hi,

    I am getting a “Could not fetch” error in Google Search Console, when clicking the site_map the next error is “Sitemap could not be read”

    I have followed the troubleshooting guide here https://rankmath.com/kb/couldnt-fetch-error-google-search-console/ and still can’t get it to work?

    Any help would be gratefully appreciated (looking at moving to Rank Math from SEO Press)

    Thank you for contacting the support and we regret the inconvenience caused.

    I checked the sitemap and it seems fine. I validated the sitemap using the Sitemap Validator and no issues are found:

    All the variations are properly redirecting to the preferred variation:

    The robots.txt also seems fine with the default rules.

    In this case, assuming you’ve removed all the sitemaps and resubmitted only the main sitemap to your Google Search Console account (please perform this if not yet and), clear your website and server’s cache (if any) and give Google some time to crawl the website again and see if that fixes the issue.
