  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Please try following all the steps in this tutorial, including the last one that changes the sitemap name on GSC: https://rankmath.com/kb/couldnt-fetch-error-google-search-console/

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

doesn’t work, what to do next

    Hello,

I checked the sitemap URLs with https://httpstatus.io/, and two variations of the sitemap are returning 200 status.

    two

Please follow this guide and redirect to a final variation:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/couldnt-fetch-error-google-search-console/#num-5-4-redirect-all-three-other-versions-to-your-preferred-variation

Once done, clear your website cache and remove all the sitemaps and submit the sitemap_index.xml in the Search Console.

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you.

    Which should I keep

    Hello,

Since your site is using the non-WWW version, you should redirect the WWW version to the non-WWW version.

Hope that helps. Let us know if you need any other assistance.

Can I use the .htaccess method to direct from www to non-www

    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^https://www.yourdomain.com [NC]
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ yourdomain.com/$1 [L,R=301]

    Hello,

Yes, it’s ideal to do server level redirection using .htaccess file.

I’ve checked the different versions of your sitemap URLs and found all three other versions of the sitemap URL are being redirected to the final version of your sitemap.

Can you please try removing your sitemaps from GSC and re-submit the sitemap_index.xml to see if that works for you?

Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

    Google still can’t get it

    Hello,

I can confirm that the sitemaps are properly redirected to the final version. Can you please follow these steps again and see if the issue goes away?

    Please follow the steps below:

    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
    https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

    3. After that, remove all your sitemaps from your GSC and resubmit only the primary sitemap (https://yourdomain.com/sitemap_index.xml).

Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you on this one.

Still not working, can you log in to my account to see?

    Hello,

Please click on the sitemap’s name(in the sitemap section of your GSC account) and share the detailed error so we can check and assist you further.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Unable to read this sitemap
    prompt this

    Hello,

I’ve checked for your sitemap again and it seems like the redirection hasn’t been setup yet, as I can see it’s still the same as my colleague mentioned above.

However, while checking for WWW version of your sitemap, I found an error on that version of your URL:

Error loading stylesheet: An unknown error has occurred (805303f4)

It’s recommended to set a proper redirection to all three other versions of your sitemap to the final version. In your case, you’ll just need to redirect the WWW version of the sitemap URL to the final version https://newgua.cc/sitemap_index.xml

Therefore, I would like to suggest you once again to set a proper redirection to the WWW version of your sitemap URL to see if that fix for you.

Once done, you can try checking using the tool httpstatus if the redirection is working properly or not. If it’s working, try re-submitting your sitemap to GSC again and let us know if the issue still persists.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

Can you log in to my account and help me deal with it, I’m not very good at operating
