I have 2 sitemaps
https://webdataguide.com/page-sitemap.xml
https://webdataguide.com/post-sitemap.xmlI see that Google reads my page sitemap (https://webdataguide.com/page-sitemap.xml) regularly, but it doesn’t read the post sitemap https://webdataguide.com/post-sitemap.xml. In fact, the last read date in search console is the date I submitted the sitemap, since then Google hasn’t visited my post sitemap.
The appearance of my posts is suffering because of that.
I did the to flush permalinks procedure, it didn’t help.

Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
Please go through the following steps:
1. Remove any sitemap submitted on your Google Search Console.
2. Since your sitemap is being cached(https://i.rankmath.com/rvvcGK), exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin from your caching plugin. You could check this doc on how to do this on plugins: https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/
3. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp4. Check if the sitemap is working fine in your browser? Do that by going to [domain.com/sitemap_index.xml].
In case the sitemap is working fine, try verifying it via this link: https://www.xml-sitemaps.com/validate-xml-sitemap.html
5. If the above works, check if you have verified the correct version of your website on Google? Please check if you have verified the www (or non-www) and HTTPS (or HTTP) version of your website. You would need to fix this if you find a mismatch.
6. Finally, head back to your search console only resubmit the main sitemap file(sitemap_index.xml). Give it sometime to crawl and update.
That should fix the issue. Please let me know if that does not. We are here to assist.
Hi
Can you help me with step 2?
I’m using the Autoptimize plugin and the Asset CleanUp plugin for caching. Autoptimize excludes sitemaps by default as far as I know. I can’t find any options to exclude URLs in Asset CleanUp.
Should I contact my hosting provider?
Hello,
If you are using the Asset CleanUp, this is not, in essence, a caching plugin but instead a plugin that enhances more page speeds. If you are using any other caching plugin which could not be listed in the doc you can use the recommendation on “other caching plugins” as stated here:
https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/#other-caching-pluginsAlso, ensure that you are not using any CDN such as Cloudflare (which it seems is the cache from my colleague’s screenshot:
In case you can’t find a solution to this, I would recommend that you get in touch with your host so that they can help in bypassing the sitemap file on the cache.
Hope this is helpful. Please feel free to reach out in case you need further assistance.
Hi,
Thank you for your response,
I contacted my host (Bluehost), and they said that they can’t help me. They say that they can only disconnect the entire website from Cloudflare, but that’s not what I want.
I want to exclude only my sitemaps. (https://drive.google.com/file/d/10hfAtuZvjy_Abessg_QALgHhNDHvAewh/view?usp=sharing)
I’m not sure what to do next.
Are you sure that caching causes the issue? because one of my sitemaps gets crawled https://webdataguide.com/page-sitemap.xml and the other doesn’t https://webdataguide.com/post-sitemap.xml
Hello,
Caching has a higher tendency of causing such issues with sitemaps.
Could you please going through the other steps and resave your permalinks before resubmitting your sitemap and let us know how it goes?
Looking forward to helping you
Hi
I went through the other steps, flushed the sitemap cache, and resubmitted the sitemap.
Let’s wait and see if anything changes, but I don’t think that it will help because I already did this exact procedure before submitting the ticket.Maybe it is a caching problem
Hello,
Thank you for keeping in touch with us.
Let us know how it goes on your end and if you still don’t see any changes after a couple of moments/days, we will try to look onto your admin settings.
We will be keeping the ticket open until your issue is resolved.
Hi,
Looks like nothing changed since I went through the steps you suggested. Google still doesn’t crawl my website.
This problem started when I submitted the https://webdataguide.com/sitemap_index.xml sitemap. When I used only the https://webdataguide.com/page-sitemap.xml everything worked fine.
You can see the screenshot that Google crawled my https://webdataguide.com/sitemap_index.xml yesterday, but it didn’t crawl the other sitemaps inside.

Hello,
We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
It is completely secure, and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.
Hello,
I checked your site and everything seems to be fine. I even validated all the sitemaps on this link: https://www.xml-sitemaps.com/validate-xml-sitemap.html
Could yo please try and use a 3rd party sitemap plugin to confirm if the issue is coming from Google. Just make sure you have disabled the Sitemap module of Rank Math in
WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Dashboard
when using a 3rd party sitemap plugin. If the other plugin works, please do let us know.
Thank you.
Thanks for checking this out,
I will try a 3rd party sitemap plugin and let you know how it goes.
Hi,
Glad we could assist.
