    Hi Team ,

In the last 2 weeks this issue has occurred thrice. I suddenly saw that my website traffic has decreased. Checked in search console and found site map is cannot be fetched.

When I go to my WordPress and click on site map everything looks fine, but when I click on sitemap it does not open.

I have to use the save option to save the sitemap every time and this resolves the problem. Then I have to again submit the sitemap to google. This is becoming quite a frequent issue and I have to save the site map in rank math every time to resolve the issue.

Please look into this issue on high priority.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Can you please follow these steps?
    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
    https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

That should fix the issue. Please let me know if that does not. We are here to assist.

Hey, I’m getting sitemap_index.xml Throws a 404 Error in Rank Math. What is the best way to proceed? Is there any other solution?

Further, give Google some time to crawl your website again and see if the issue is fixed.

    Hope that helps.
