google analytics not working with rankmath

    Hello!

I just installed Rankmath a couple days ago. I was using Monster Insights before and after installing Rank math, I deleted Monster Insights. Since then, Google analytics doesn’t work – it isn’t working with Ranthmath and even when I just go directly into my google analytics, it isn’t working anymore (it isn’t tracking anything).
    I read this article: https://rankmath.com/kb/analytics-issues/
And when I checked to see how things were set up in the “status & tools” section, I noticed that the following database tables say “not found” – 404 log, redirection, redirection cache and Google search console.
I’m not sure how to fix this. Should I uninstall the plugin and try re-installing it?

Thanks in advance for your help πŸ™‚

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math, and sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Please follow this guide to recreate the database tables:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/recreate-missing-database-tables/

For Analytics, make sure that the Install Analytics code option is enabled at Rank Math > General settings > Analytics:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/general-settings/#install-analytics-code

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you.

Thank you – so I tried doing these steps and it still isn’t working.
When I re-created the missing database tables, it only created the one for Google search console but not the other three (404 log, redirection and redirection cache).
When I try installing the analytics code, it does nothing. Like, I do all the steps listed in the article but when I save the changes and go back, it looks as if nothing has been changed.
I tried deleting my cache and doing all the steps again, but it still isn’t working!
Should I try uninstalling the plugin and then re-installing it?

    Cheers,
    Kate

    Hello,

As the Search Console table is recreated, you can follow this guide to initiate a fresh data fetch: https://rankmath.com/kb/delete-old-analytics-data/

Regarding other missing tables, could you confirm if you’ve enabled the “404 Monitor” and the “Redirections” modules from your Rank Math > Dashboard?

As for Google Analytics, if the analytics code is added now and there is no data in Google Analytics, it would take some time before Google Analytics tracks the website and populates the data. Please wait for a few days and see if that helps.

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you.

    Thank you so much!
I followed the first 3 steps in the article and I can now see stats in my dashboard.
I had not enabled those missing tables, so I did that and now everything is showing up correctly.

As for google analytics, it still appears like nothing is happening when I go directly into my google analytics dashboard, but I will wait a few days like you suggested. However, when I go into the analytics tab (under “general settings” in rankmath), it appears empty – I will add my account and property from the drop down menu, and i will choose to “install analytics code” but then after I hit “save changes” at the bottom, it just erases everything I did and shows blank again? I’m not sure if this is normal or not? It doesn’t look right. It still appears like I haven’t installed the analytics code.
Should I go ahead and remove and re-add rank math access to my google account and see if that helps?

One more question – since I installed RankMath, the way my homepage title displays in the browser tab has changed and now there is a dash before the name of my site. Why is this and how can I change it?

Thanks so much for all your help πŸ™‚
    Cheers,

    Hello,

Regarding the analytics issue, could you confirm if you’re using Firefox or Safari to save the Analytics settings? If yes, can you please try saving the Analytics settings in Chrome?

If that does not help, try saving the settings in Incognito Mode in Chrome.

One more question – since I installed RankMath, the way my homepage title displays in the browser tab has changed and now there is a dash before the name of my site. Why is this and how can I change it?

If you have a static homepage, you can edit it and follow this guide to modify the SEO title: https://rankmath.com/kb/seo-meta-tags/#seo-title-gutenberg

If that’s not the case and your homepage displays the latest posts of the website, you can modify the “Homepage Title” option under Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Homepage: https://rankmath.com/kb/titles-and-meta/#home-page-title

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you.

WOOHOO!!! It’s working!!!! Thank you so much πŸ™‚ β™₯
