Hello, I was wondering do I need to connect my Google Analytics to Rank Math if I already use another plugin to insert the code?

If so, how do I only select the UA code instead of using the GA4? As we would only like to use the UA code, not the GA4.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting us.

If another plugin is adding the analytics code, then you can connect Google Analytics with Rank Math and keep the Install Analytics Code option disabled. Here’s a guide regarding this option: https://rankmath.com/kb/general-settings/#install-analytics-code

As the APIs of GA4 is not yet matured, we do not support GA4 properties. Hence, you’ll not see the GA4 property in the analytics settings of Rank Math and you’ll be able to easily connect the UA property.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you

ok cool so the property I am seeing in the drop down is the UA property correct?

Also I have verify my Google Search Console via Rank Math through meta tag.

Do I need to do that as well by adding TXT record on my DNS record?

If not needed, what if I added the TXT record as well? Will that harm anything or create any duplication?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

Yes, the property that is displayed in the Analytics dropdown is the UA property.

No, you do not need to verify again with DNS. It will create a duplicate property(domain property) in your Search Console.

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you.

ok cool how can I change the set up from Easy to Advanced?

And will I lose the current settings?

    Thanks.

    Hello,

You can switch to the Advanced Mode from the top-right corner at WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Dashboard

Here is a screenshot for reference:

No, you will not lose current settings after enabling the advanced mode.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

Hello with Section 5 SiteMap below:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/how-to-setup/

How come I could not find the same screenshots as the one in the above article? I could not find the same navigation.

Where should I go for that?

    Hello,

The screencast in Step 5 is of the Setup Wizard that you get when you install and configure the plugin for the first time.

You can check the Sitemap settings at Rank Math > Sitemap settings
    https://rankmath.com/kb/configure-sitemaps/

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    1. So with the Image Sitemap, if we turn it on to Include Images, will it redirect the attachment URLs to the attachment itself?

which means each image on our site won’t have its own URL. It will be simply its own image on a page and as we know a page is going to get indexed and be included in our sitemap.

    2. For Attachment, is it better to disable the sitemap?

    3. I don’t remember I have the Sitemap section when installing the plugin. For the Categories – is it better to enable the SiteMap?

    4. What is Project? and Is it better to have it enabled for SiteMap?

    5. Do you have Sitemap for Archive?

    Thanks,

    Adeline

Also in addition to my questions above, do we need to paste the following XML sitemap:

    https://grandroyalcoco.com/sitemap_index.xml

Into our Google Search Console in order to completely submit the sitemap on Google?

    Thanks,

    Adeline

Also in addition to all my 2 messages above,

    1. Where can I edit Section 6.1 Noindex Empty Category and Tag Archives?

    https://rankmath.com/kb/how-to-setup/

    2. Do you recommend enabling “NoFollow Image File Links” under General Settings > Links?

    3. Where can I set up the 404 Redirections and Schema Markeup in Section 10 and 11?

    https://rankmath.com/kb/how-to-setup/

I didn’t see it on the navigation menu on the left hand side.

    Thank you,

    Adeline

    Hello,

    1. The images in the sitemap option, only includes the images in your posts under the post URL. It will not redirect the attachment pages.

And even if you enable the redirect attachments option, only the attachment pages get redirected to the parent page. The images can still be accessed on the URL they exist.

    2. We recommend redirecting the attachment pages. So you should keep the option disabled for the attachment sitemap and redirect them from WP Dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > Links. Here is a guide that can help you decide if you should or shouldn’t redirect the attachment pages: https://rankmath.com/kb/should-you-redirect-attachments/

    3. If you want to index your categories in the search engines then you should enable the option for including category sitemap in your main sitemap.

    4. Project must be the post type you are using on your site. You can enable the option if you want to submit the posts under projects for indexing.

    5. The category and tags are archives of your posts. Can you please share some more details about the archive you are asking about?

    6. Yes, you should submit only your main sitemap(sitemap_index.xml) in GSC and it will submit all the sub-sitemaps automatically.

    7. You can Noindex empty categories and archives from WP Dashboard > Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Global Meta

    8. It depends on you if you want to nofollow them or not. Here is a guide that can help you decide: https://www.searchenginejournal.com/when-to-use-nofollow-on-links/383468/

    9. We don’t have a 404 Redirections and Schema Markup option in the latest version. You can enable the 404 Monitor and Redirections module from WP Dashboard > Rank Math > Dashboard. After that, you will be able to see two new options named 404 Monitor and Redirection under Rank Math menu.

For the Schema markup, you can manage the Schema type for each post type from WP Dashboard > Rank Math > Titles & Meta. Here you will get an option of the Schema type under the settings of post types like Posts, Pages, etc. https://rankmath.com/kb/titles-and-meta/

Hope this helps. Let us know if you need any other assistance.

    Thanks.

Hello thank you for your response

    1. If you want to index your categories in the search engines then you should enable the option for including category sitemap in your main sitemap.

-> Is it normally advised to index the categories?

    2. Project must be the post type you are using on your site. You can enable the option if you want to submit the posts under projects for indexing.

-> Can you explain more about this and where can we enable Projects?

    3. The category and tags are archives of your posts. Can you please share some more details about the archive you are asking about?

-> This is basically in reference to YOAST setting. Their Search Appearance have. 7 tabs: General | Content Types | Media | Taxonomies | Archives | Breadcrumbs | RSS

Here’s a screenshot of the Archive tab (scroll down):

    4. Yes, you should submit only your main sitemap(sitemap_index.xml) in GSC and it will submit all the sub-sitemaps automatically.

    > So we have to paste the main sitemap manually in Google Search Console right? Rank Math will not automatically do this part – correct?

Is it normally advised to index the categories?

Category pages are usually set to noindex as they contain content which might be seen as duplicates by search engines. They may also compete with and Rank higher than the pages they link to.

Can you explain more about this and where can we enable Projects?

‘Project’ is not part of default WordPress and might have been added by a plugin or your theme. The features of project vary depending on the creator (theme/plugin) but the main goal is to give you a better way to showcase your projects. If you are using Divi, please contact their support for help with the project post type.

So we have to paste the main sitemap manually in Google Search Console right? Rank Math will not automatically do this part – correct?

Here is a direct link to submit your sitemap to Google Search Console: https://search.google.com/search-console/not-verified?original_url=/search-console/sitemaps

what is the common practice? Enable “NoFollow Image File Links” or disable it?

The default setting for links is normally set to follow.

Hope that answers you. Let us know if you have questions.
