Global Schema not working + Service and WebPage connected (not show separately)

    Hey guys, how are you?
First, thank you for the help in the previous post.

After investigating the plugin more, I found additional problems on the staging site I created.

As I mentioned before, this is not the original website, it’s a staging site hosted with the “LOCAL” application on my computer locally.
I did this because I want to understand the issues better without risking the current websites I have.

    Problem 1:
The “Service” Schema and “WebPage” Schema are appearing together under the “Service” schema instead of separately.
I’m not sure if this is normal behavior.
Inside the “Service” schema, there’s a type: “WebPage”, but I don’t know if that’s how it’s supposed to be.

As i said before, I’m not sure if this is the expected behavior.

    Problem 2 (Big Problem):
The “Service” Schema is not showing on all the pages after using the RankMath Wizard twice.
When I set up the plugin in the first time, I could see the “Service” schema on the front page. However, after running the RankMath wizard a second time, I noticed the “Service” Schema disappeared, and it only returns if I manually edit each page.
Screenshot of one of the pages:

    Problem 3 (big problem too):
I tried changing the global string for the schema to only %title%
I go the RankMath setting and change it for all the site. (the global setting).
    but this didn’t work either.

The only solution seems to be editing each page individually to adjust the schema, but I have 110 pages on each site, and it could take me months to go through all of them.

    Please help,
    Regards,
    Nadav

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support.

    1. This is the normal behavior. If the WebPage Schema is used as a property of the Service Schema, there is no need for the validation tool to show it separately. The Schema is used to submit the data to the search engines and they will get it even when a Schema type is being used as a property of another Schema type. Also, the Schemas are merged by the validation tools. If you check the Schema code of our plugin, all the Schema types are added separately.

    2. You will have to add a Service Type in the Service Schema to apply it to the pages. Without a service type, it won’t be applied.

    3. We can replicate the issue on our end and have informed the developers. We will let you know once this is fixed.

Please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

Thank you for your response @Jaideep Asrani
OK, so problem number 1 is solved.

    Regarding problem number 2:
It’s a lot of work to go page by page and set up the “service type” for each page (I have 110 pages across 3 websites…).

Is there a way to do this in BULK? If there is an option in the PRO plugin, please let me know—I will buy it very soon. I just need to be sure if it’s possible.

    Problem number 3:
I’ll wait for you to get back to me about that.

Once these problems are resolved, rest assured I will buy the RankMath PRO plugin.
I just want to make sure I’m covered before taking that step (you must understand that I have 3 websites, and they’re very large, switching SEO plugins can be a significant change for me).

    Hello,

2: On the PRO version of the plugin, you can use Schema Templates to create an already filled Service schema, then apply it to your pages using the Display Condition tab.

3: Once we hear back from our developers we’ll update you here.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation

Okay, sounds good, but I’m trying to do it without using a template through the Global Settings. Let’s say the wizard offers you to use the global schema ‘service,’ and I was thinking it would apply to all the pages without creating a template.

Is it possible to set this up with the wizard as the general ‘service’ schema for the entire website without creating a template?

And what about problem number 3?

I am anyway going to buy the Rank Math Pro no matter what.
But if have an easier way to setup the “service” schema for all the website globally it be easier for me

    Hello,

I wanted to clarify that the Setup Wizard does not include an option to select the Service schema. Could you please provide a screenshot of the wizard you are referring to?

In any case, when you set the Global schema through Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Post Types, you are essentially defining the “default” schema. However, you will still need to configure certain schemas separately. For example, the Article schema typically requires no additional setup, while the Service schema does require further configuration to function properly.

The Schema Templates feature allows you to pre-configure a schema and apply it according to the specified display conditions.

Regarding your third issue, we have not yet received a response from our developers. We will keep you updated as soon as we hear back from them.

Thank you for choosing Rank Math!

    Someone? help?

    Hello,

We apologize for the delay in our response. We process tickets based on the order of the “oldest user reply”. If you send additional replies while waiting, your ticket may be moved to the back of the line. We appreciate your patience during this long wait.

Regarding the issues you reported, we have logged “Problem #3” with the development team, and they have confirmed that it will be included in the next update.

However, for your use case, we still recommend using the Schema Templates as we suggested earlier. The default headline will only apply to new posts in the backend and will not be visible on the frontend.

We apply the default schema (which you set in the Settings) to the frontend only when the default schema is set to Article. For all other schema types, there are several required and recommended fields, and it’s not feasible to include options for all of them in the Settings.

We hope this clarifies the issue. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

    Best regards,

Hello, how are you? Thanks for your response @Great.

    Regarding problem number 3
    I can to wait.
I can buy the Pro RankMath plugin right now, but at least let me know when the next update will be released.

    About problem number 2:
As I showed you before in my screenshot (screenshot link):
    https://i.postimg.cc/Gm0f7bws/image.png
This is part with the “Service” schema inside the wizard.

I don’t mind creating a template and buy the PRO version, but it would be much easier if the “Service” schema behaved the same way as the “Article” schema.

This would save me a lot of time and make things much simpler.
Are you sure there’s no solution for this in the PRO version of RankMath?

    Hello,

We have replied to the ticket you created in the PRO forum and are closing this one.

    Thank you.
