    Hi
I’ve added custom global titles and descriptions for custom post type, but these changes aren’t taking effect on any of the single posts.

I have to manually override the title and description for each post.

    Can you help please?

    Hi,

Thanks for getting in touch with us.

    1. Please make sure you are editing the correct post type.

    2. Please make sure that the custom fields variable you are trying to use is correct and can be used in the SEO title.

    3. Finally, please share a screenshot of what you see when you click on the search preview before you make any changes. We want to see what global settings are being pulled on the individual level.

We look forward to hearing back from you.

    Thanks for your help
    1. I am editing correct post type,
    2. I have removed the custom field for now to eliminate that from the equation.
    3. see attached screenshots with global and single post settings.

    Hello,

We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I was checking it but I saw you have set a custom title and description on those custom posts, so they override the Global settings you set.

    Could you check it?

    Looking forward to help you.

    Hi ALberto

    thanks for looking at this.

I’ve not set any custom titles on any of the single posts (see screenshot of single web design post “Website updates”
    https://ibb.co/YLhCQYZ

I’d like the post to use the global title i’ve set in Rankmath ie “Web updates – Web Design – Design Hero”. I thouht if I haven’t tried to change the edit single post title it would default to the global Rank Math setting?

    Hello,

I have attached a screencast in the Sensitive Data section showing you what I mean. As you can see there, if you remove the custom title and description you set on those posts, your default global data will show.

    Looking forward to help you.

Ah I see. I never manually set any of the titles on these single posts so I had assumed the global title should overwrite the default single post title. I hadn’t realised I had to go through each single post and manually remove the title in order to regenerate the default global title. I can do that now which should sort it. thanks for your help.

    Hello,

I am happy you find it useful. The only weird thing is that usually that title and description if not fulfilled by the user, it is empty (so it displays just the global meta) so since you said you didn’t enter it, I am not sure how it was fulfilled. But well, at least you found the solution.

    Looking forward to help you.
