Getting ‘Sitemap can be read, but has errors’ error

    In google sitemap console, my sitemap_index.xml is showing as successfully indexed.

    However, category-sitemap.xml and post-sitemap.xml are showing error.
    For these, I am getting ‘Sitemap can be read, but has errors’ error. Details show ‘Your Sitemap appears to be an HTML page. Please use a supported sitemap format instead.’

    They were working a month back and suddenly something has happened. Kindly help in resolving the issue

    Thank you for contacting the support and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    Your sitemaps seem to be valid according to this tool: https://www.xml-sitemaps.com/validate-xml-sitemap.html

    Please submit a new Sitemap file with GSC and let us know if these errors still persist.

    Also, can you please follow these steps?
    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
    https://i.rankmath.com/xXXhDt

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server.
