We recently installed your Rank Math SEO plugin in a WordPress staging site that we are working on. When trying to use Redirections, it’s saying we have a critical error with our site. Our hosting vendor suggested we content you for assistance. Any idea how to fix this?

Appears the plugin seo-by-rank-math installed is throwing this critical error:
NOTICE: PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Uncaught TypeError: array_map(): Argument #2 ($array) must be of type array, null given in /www/wp-content/plugins/seo-by-rank-math/includes/modules/redirections/class-db.php:49″

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the critical error in Rank Math SEO when trying to use Redirections. This error typically occurs due to a conflict or an issue with the database related to the Action Scheduler, which is used by Rank Math for managing scheduled tasks.

To resolve this issue, we recommend following these steps:

    1. Backup Your Database: Before making any changes, ensure you take a backup of your database to prevent any data loss.

    2. Repair Action Scheduler: You can use our Repair Action Scheduler plugin to fix this issue automatically. Here’s how:

      • Download the Repair Action Scheduler plugin from GitHub.
      • Upload the ZIP file to your site via Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
      • Activate the plugin, and it should automatically repair the necessary tables and then deactivate itself.
      • You should see messages indicating that tables have been created successfully.

    3. Clear Cache: After performing the above steps, clear all caches, including server cache, if applicable.

    4. Check for Conflicts: If the problem persists, it may be due to a conflict with another plugin or theme. Try deactivating other plugins one by one to identify any conflicts.

If you continue to experience issues after following these steps, please reply to this ticket with your site URL, and a human agent from our support team will assist you further. Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention!

We tried to run the Repair Action Scheduler, but then got this message: “The Repair Action Scheduler could not run because the repair database schema is obsolete. No actions performed. The Repair Action Scheduler plugin has been automatically deactivated.”

We also upgraded WordPress from 6.7.2 to 6.8.1, but it didn’t make a difference.

    Hello,

It seems like the tables to save redirections were not created for some reason.

In this case, please head over to your WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Status & Tools > Database Tools and click the Recreate Missing Database Tables button and see if that works for you: https://rankmath.com/kb/rank-math-status-and-tools/#recreate-missing-database-tools

Please note that some options are only available when you enable the Advanced Mode in Rank Math. If Database Tools is not showing, please switch to the Advanced Mode: https://rankmath.com/kb/switch-from-easy-to-advanced-mode/

Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.
