After checking it, it seems you get the following errors when trying to save:
api-fetch.min.js:2 POST https://website.com/wp-json/rankmath/v1/updateMeta?_locale=user 403
post.php:1 Uncaught (in promise) {code: "invalid_json", message: "The response is not a valid JSON response."}
Those errors usually are caused when something is blocking access to the WordPress API REST.
I would recommend disabling the plugins one by one to check what could be causing it, also I would recommend contacting your hosting support, to check if something is blocking the WordPress API REST.

I’m having this same issue. I had several of my posts optimized to around 90/100. All of a sudden, it’s not recognizing my focus keyword which takes me down to about 55/100. Can you please assist? Thanks.
I have been working with my host for the past few days to try and solve this issue. They have been very thorough and helpful, but are convinced this is a RankMath issue and not to do with any server side, php errors or plugin conflicts.
I have been advised by them to reach out to RankMath support to try and solve this.
Actually, I just fixed my issue and it was Site Origin causing the issue. I looked to see which plugins recently updated and SO just updated the same day. De-activated it and it’s all fixed.

No, I do not use SiteOrigin.
I do have two Thrive plugins installed, but:
1). I have tried deactivating them and it did not make any difference
2). One of my other site also has the same two plugins and on that site RankMath is working perfectly
Is there any history of there being an issue with the Thrive Theme plugins and Rank Math?
Do you have any other ideas as to what the problem could be?

For some reason, WordFence is blocking the updateMeta request which Rank Math uses to update the metadata. Please check the screencast I added in the Sensitive Data Section. I wanted to whitelist it from the Wordfence >> Tools settings but the page is not showing the updateMeta rule.
Can you please contact the hosting team and ask them to check the Firewall Settings and whitelist the updateMeta rule? You can also forward them the screencast I shared in the Sensitive Data Section.
