Focus Keyword not found in the URL” – false error on Elementor pages

    Hi Rank Math team,

I’m experiencing a persistent issue on my WordPress site using Elementor. The SEO analyzer shows the warning:
“Focus Keyword not found in the URL”
    — even when the Focus Keyword is clearly present in the page slug.

    Example:
Focus Keyword = Detox from Ultra-Processed Food
    Page URL = https://livingwellwithdiabetes.org/detox-from-ultra-processed-food/

Despite matching exactly, the warning still shows up. This also happens on other pages like “About Us” and more.

I’ve tried clearing the Focus Keyword and re-saving it. I’ve also tested in the Classic Editor vs Elementor — the error only appears when editing with Elementor.

Please confirm if this is a known bug in the Rank Math plugin and if there’s a planned fix.

    Thanks,
    Ronald Woods

  • Hello,

Thank you for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.

We tested this from our end, and it seems to be working just fine. See video screencast below:

    https://i.rankmath.com/v/32lZXT

Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), it would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.

To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

Here is a video you can follow as well:

Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

If the issue persists, please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress login in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
